LDS Conference Dance XXXI
October 2nd, 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
South Towne Expo Center
Chances are you’re probably going to the BYU-Utah State football game on Friday night. You still need an after party — and what better way to celebrate our victory than at the 31st semi-annual Conference Dance? I know what you might be thinking: “Conference Dance? That sounds like a giant awkward youth dance.” Well, kinda. But it can be a blast if you decide to let yourself have fun. Go with an open mind because this dance is huge.
I’ve gone to several and I’ve always enjoyed myself immensely. Usually I have a rule against going to a club to meet guys, but this dance is the exception. This is where I go to get my stock of men for the next six months. I’m serious. It’s a feeding frenzy. It’s like the Sam’s Club of dances. Buy in bulk.
Enough with the personal testimony. Here’s the deets — it has three dance floors, including Top 40 (where you’ll find me), Latin and Country. Entertainment will include an electronic bull, rock wall and multiple bands performing live in the lobby. (Shameless plug for my brother: If you’ve ever wanted to be on TV, stop by the Comcast film crew booth and get filmed talking about the “Utah scene,” or whatever you want. You can make fun of yourself later when you’re watching yourself on the On Demand channel.) Also, if you’re 30-plus, there’s a singles dance the same night at Studio 600.
It all goes down October 2nd, 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the South Towne Expo Center. See you there!
Kristin Clift is an events correspondent for Rhombus, and apparently enjoys “buying in bulk.”
