EVENTS: Weekend Party Preview: The Neon Party Goes Halloween
Dance Party Neon has saved Studio 600. I’ve never been to a Neon party myself, but I’ve heard they’re pretty hopping. This Friday, the Neon Party is throwing a big Halloween Party. Around 1,100 people confirmed for the event on Facebook, with 1,500 fence-sitters that will probably end up going because they won’t want to miss it.
There will be three dance floors: mashup (with the great DJ Marcus Wing), electro and ’80s. Electro dance is my newest love, basically because it’s not hip-hop and I like dancing like a malfunctioning robot. Since it’s a Halloween party, go dressed up — they suggest neon costumes. It’s at Studio 600 this Friday the 16th from 9:00 pm to 1:35 am. Go and get your robot on.
If you don’t like the party scene, go watch Jordan Petersen’s film screening of Spit -- a charming film about a town that’s obsessed with a card game called Spit. The screening will be held in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium (room 1060) on BYU campus, Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
