At long last, the final ballots are here! You nominated your favorite local people, places and things for our 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards — and now you get to vote for them! The polls (included below) will be open through the end of the year, so vote for your favorites and tell all your friends to do the same. We will announce the winners in each category in early January. As always, thanks for reading. Happy voting!

hey all. I’m all for polls and promoting your band. I’m also aware that bands are probably watching this poll with great excitement. However, Build me this was a I-tunes #1, received amazing critical reception, included in 2009’s best lists (on a national scale). Do you really think that any other album deserves to win?
Imagine Dragons is my favorite band but I don’t think they really count as “local” since they aren’t currently a band who is playing here in Utah. They are in Vegas largely and playing there for the most part But if they are on the ballet I guess they count so…vote for them!
Obviously “Build Me This” is a great album, but does national attention really mean it’s a “better album”? It’s a completely subjective term and the reader ought to vote for the album they felt the most compelling.
I agree with Andrew, its completely subjective. Just because more people have heard that album doesn’t necessarily mean its better. By that logic, Nickleback and Miley Cyrus’ latest albums would be some of the best in the world. its completely subjective.
Exactly, thats my point. Build me this IS really really good, but not because a lot of people like it. A lot of people like Nickleback, but they obviously are horrible.

I don’t…Build Me This was really really good whereas Nickleback is probably the worst group of all time.
