You can take your nieces and nephews trick-or-treating, you can veg and watch Hocus Pocus, or you can party it up like it’s the last Halloween you’ll ever spend in Provo. (Oh, wait! It is my last Halloween in Provo! Woot!) There are too many options for activities and parties. I still haven’t made up my mind — it’s fantastic! Here’s a list; thanks to Summer Heat for the help.

EVENTS: Halloween Party Preview

Halloween is my favorite time of year; you get to dress up, eat candy, and PARTY! There’s a whole bunch of parties in the next couple of weekends. Here’s a list, courtesy of Vanessa Oler:

Friday, October 23rd:
EDP’s Ghosts N’ Whatever @ Southworth on Center St, 8:30pm-2am ($3/$2)

Hallofunkaween @ The Rail in SLC, 9:30pm-2:30am

Saturday, October 24th:
The Masquerade @ Sleepy Ridge Golf Course in Orem, 9pm-1am ($10)

Friday, October 30th:
Beautiful Nightmare @ Alpine Village, 9pm-1am

All Hallows Eve @ Spark, 10:30pm-1am ($11)

The 31st:
Dead Ball @ Velour, 7pm-12am ($7)

The Haunt @ The Loft, 9pm-1am

Here’s what you shouldn’t miss this weekend: EDP on Friday night. it’s closer, cheaper, and better dancing than Hallowfunkaween. (Don’t get me wrong — I’ve always had a blast at Hallowfunkaween parties. If electro dancing isn’t your thing, you should check it out.)

Most definitely do not miss The Masquerade; it’s basically every girl’s dream come true. I might be over-generalizing, but it certainly is mine. If only I had a date. (*Sigh*) It’s going to be held at a beautiful mansion. I’m positive The Masquerade will be exquisitely splendid. Where’s my freaking fairy godmother when I need her?

EVENTS: Weekend Party Preview: The Neon Party Goes Halloween

Written by Kristin Clift on . Posted in Uncategorized

Dance Party Neon has saved Studio 600. I’ve never been to a Neon party myself, but I’ve heard they’re pretty hopping. This Friday, the Neon Party is throwing a big Halloween Party. Around 1,100 people confirmed for the event on Facebook, with 1,500 fence-sitters that will probably end up going because they won’t want to miss it.

There will be three dance floors: mashup (with the great DJ Marcus Wing), electro and ’80s. Electro dance is my newest love, basically because it’s not hip-hop and I like dancing like a malfunctioning robot. Since it’s a Halloween party, go dressed up — they suggest neon costumes. It’s at Studio 600 this Friday the 16th from 9:00 pm to 1:35 am. Go and get your robot on.

If you don’t like the party scene, go watch Jordan Petersen’s film screening of Spit -- a charming film about a town that’s obsessed with a card game called Spit. The screening will be held in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium (room 1060) on BYU campus, Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
